You would think with all this positive press that gives Christians a worldwide stage for sharing about Jesus, believers would be supportive of these folks. Nope. Instead you hear attacks from some that question their faith and commitment for singing a secular song. Give me a break!
My take on all this nonsense is best expressed by American Idol Chris Sligh. In addition to having been on American Idol with Jordin Sparks, Chris serves as worship leader for his home church in South Carolina:
“I am first and foremost a Christ-follower. I am also a rock star. I don’t feel the two are diametrically opposed. If you do…I feel bad for you.”

Sometimes it’s the really sad love quotes that are most memorable and moving. What’s really sad about our love quote of the day is not the quote itself, but the fact that the creator, David Viscott, died without experiencing the love of which he spoke. Now do you see why the below is such a really sad love quote?
David was a well known US psychiatrist who had a radio show where he counseled others. Separated from his wife, and estranged from his children, he died alone in his hotel room in LA, by apparently taking his own life. How sad! As far as we know, he was not a believer in the Lord Christ, who could have filled his life with the love he sought.
Thank God as Christian singles, we have a Saviour who loves us, and the opportunity to lshare His with all those around us-family friends, and lovers.

If you’re average looking, Hotenough.org, a new online dating site, doesn’t want you. Talk about online dating site shallowness. But it’s true. This new online dating site is only for the physically beautiful.
Here’s how you can become a member: You take three online dating pictures of yourself, including a full body shot. Then the online dating site administrators evaluate your worthiness, and if they feel you have what it takes, you’re in. If not, well, there’s always eHarmony or the nearest rejection hotline. Since only 10% of the singles who apply actually make the cut, applying to this online dating site is not the greatest way to gain self confidence in dating.
So what do you, as a Christian single, think about all this? All I can say is thank God Jesus doesn’t judge us soley according to our physical appearance. And think about this: When God’s Son invaded humankind he could have come down as the hottest guy the earth had ever seen. Instead he chose something closer to the opposite end of the spectrum.

Are you waiting on God for a romantic relationship that leads to marriage? Some single Christians have communicated to us that their hopes for a serious romantic relationship are dwindling as each year passes by, and as more of their friends get married.
When things don’t go our way in life and romance, we can can easily become frustrated and doubt the promises of God. Don’t get down on yourself for feeling faithless when this happens, but instead thank Him that He remains faithful to you no matter what. He knows your heart, and will provide you what you need in His time.

A number of Christians always ask, “Why a Dating Matchmaking site? Some Christians (usually they’re not single..hmm) find a dating matchmaking site a little strange, especially from someone (moi) who believes they’re called into a church planting ministry.
In short, I basically created this dating matchmaking site as an “out of the box” way of reaching singles for Jesus, because I have a burden for the needs of singles, especially Christian singles. I watched a moving story on CNN last night about a guy who suffered sexual abuse as a teen. His perpetrator was Father Toohey, a Roman Catholic priest from Baltimore, Maryland. Foregoing the shame and false guilt he had held within himself for over 20 years, Thomas Roberts, now a TV journalist, decided to share his story of sexual abuse via international television as a way of reaching out to others who were also sexually abused. Recently admitting to being a homosexual, he stated if “just one person is helped by this story of sexual abuse, then it would have all been worth it.”
The fact is thousands of children and teens have suffered sexual abuse at the hands of trusted family members, friends and ministers. Many of the poor victims of sexual abuse are now single adults suffering emotional and spiritual wounds from the prior incidents.
Tragically, according to the The Archives of Sexual Behavior, many men who sexually abuse boys often are influential in leading their teen victims into the same kind of behaviour. “One of the most salient findings of this study is that 46 percent of homosexual men and 22 percent of homosexual women reported having been molested by a person of the same gender. This contrasts to only 7 percent of heterosexual men and 1 percent of heterosexual women reporting having been molested by a person of the same gender.”
As Christian singles, our hearts should go out to all victims of sexual abuse. If you are reading this as a sexual abuse survivor, I want you to know we are praying for your healing and well being. Jesus, our Healer, Saviour and Coming King promises to be with us in our trials, and give us rest. Please come to Him today, as He will never let you down.
