TGIF! Thank God it’s Friday. Good Friday that is. You know, this week has been tough on me. I am suffering with a virus in two different areas: One in my stomach and the other on my website. By the way, if you’ve come to Christian Dating Service PLUS! and couldn’t get on, that was the reason. Bluehost.com, our server, told us because we have been getting so many visitors lately, some bad guy may be spamming our site in order to take us down permanently. Whatever.
Good Friday Brings Perspective
I thank God it’s Good Friday because it has helped me keep perspective about what is really important in this life. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that it’s not about us, right? I know many of us are going through difficult and lonely times, and I want you to know we are praying for you.
What has really helped me through this week is recalling that on this sad but wonderful day, Jesus took ALL of our sins and screw ups with Him on that cross. And think about this: That at this point half beaten to death, He was also the lonliest, most rejected single person who had ever lived. Remarkably, He did it all for you…and good old whining me.

One of my favorite broken heart quotes comes from an unknown Christian author:”God can heal a broken heart, but He has to have all the pieces.”
I love this broken heart quote because there within it is a kernel of hope for healing.
If you have ever suffered a broken heart, you know the feelings of despair and rejection that goes along with it. I know I sure have. If you are going through the pain of a broken heart right now, please take cheer in knowing that your Saviour has been there and done that.
Some folks have even said that our Jesus did not die from the torture of the cross, but rather from a broken heart. I don’t know about all of that. I’ll leave that one to the speculating theologians But what I do know is this:
-The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down-Psalm 34:18
Now that is one broken heart quote, we can live by and trust.
