Even though most singles avoid church, many are singles of faith who profess to know Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Singles of Faith for Singles
In 1 John 5:1-5, Paul writes about genuine faith in Christ. This is not mental assent or an intellectual exercise. Rather, it is active, abiding, believing, trusting faith… the kind of faith that Abraham had as he offered his son Isaac (James 2:19-22) and that Moses had as he led the children of Israel out of Egypt and through the wilderness.
This is faith that demonstrates itself in loving obedience to the Father (v. 2-3) and in overcoming perseverance as we withstand the pressures and temptations of the world (v. 4-5). God offers us immeasurable grace to deal with life’s hardships and to shine like lights with the love of God!

They go through life yearning for a dating relationship leading toward marriage, but shy away from love at the same time. How sad and frustrating!
Some single Christians even have a poor concept of God, fearing him (in the wrong way) rather than loving Him from the heart. Others are afraid to surrender their hearts to Jesus in love because they are afraid of what he might do–like condemn them to be single and alone forever.
However, the Bible says the God is love and we can trust as single Christians that God wants the best for us. In our Bible Verse of the Day His word tells us in 1 John 4:18:
~There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love~

Accepting Unconditional Love

If you really get down to it, aren’t we all looking for unconditional love? Many Christian singles enter into dating relationships with hopes of finding this kind of true love. While I certainly believe God can lead you to a life long soulmate, only the Lord can love us unconditionally.
I know some of us feel we have to “earn our love with God, and never quite are able to accept what He says about us in His word. But the neat and ironic thing is, once we accept God’s unconditional love, we can then love ourselves and others (including our future mate) more fully.
Unconditional Love From Above
In 1 John 4:9-11, we are reminded that God proved His love for us by sending His Son to be the payment for our sins. If you ever find yourself doubting God’s love for you, look to the cross, where it was settled once and for all. Let’s be led not by our feelings, but by our faith in the risen Christ who loves us with an never-ending unconditional love!
