Black and White Singles and Election 2008

Why are we writing about black and white singles? For those who don’t know Christian Dating Service PLUS has taken the position that racism (especially in light of the upcoming US election) both in the church and our society is one of the biggest barriers both black and white single Christians must overcome if we are to impact our society for Jesus. I am addressing this issue here because our readership (over 100,00 per month) is made up nearly equally of both white and black singles.
Black and White Singles Plea
One white reader recently wrote accusing me of being racist because I have articles about Christian black singles and the issues they face. You can read my response below. *
Please! Talking about racial issues is not being racist as one our readers has suggested. No. Acknowledging our differences, forgiving each other, confronting racism (from both black and white sources) and speaking the truth in love is a powerful way both black and white singles who love Jesus can help transform our country and the world.
Can you imagine the message this would send unbelievers and Washington if both black and white Christian singles united as a movement to declare we are all ONE in Christ Jesus? Can you imagine the impact? Can anyone spell R-E-V-I-V-A-L?

I get thousands of emails…but I just happened to see your comments about us being racist. Here’s the deal: I am a church planter in NJ who is planting a contemporary multicultural church. Our Core Team (made up of black, white, hispanic) would have laughed if they read your comments.

1. You should have read what we have written about Interracial relationships before making such comments. I find your comments funny because we get attacked daily by real racists.
2. Why the separate topics of Black and Hispanic Singles? Simply…we want to reach unchurched people (many whom are racist) with the gospel and it’s these keywords that they search for.

Singles Issues-What Singles Worry About Most

Top 7 Singles Issues
Now, let’s get back to singles issues and what singles seem to think or worry about most. We are gathering this information from our 10 month old singles survey where over a thousand Christian singles from around the world participated. Here are the top five things singles issues people are worry warts over with a Confidence Interval @ 95%:
I was kinda shocked to see sex at number 7 and money issues as the number 1 singles issue. One interesting thing we found about these singles issues is that the percentage of single women who think or worry about money/bills (20%) is substantially higher than the number of single guys who do (13%). Perhaps not surprising is the fact that men think or worry about sex (10%) much more often than our single gal respondents (4%). How interesting! Any thoughts on this?
So what are your issues today? What are YOU worrying about? The cool thing is that no matter what our “singles issues” are today, Jesus told us we don’t have to carry all that stuff by ourselves. He wants us to lay our burdens on Him. Have you done so yet?

Pray-My Domain Name Was Stolen!

I am heartbroken. Please pray for our ministry and Christian-Dating-Service-Plus.com, which are one and the same. My name is David Butler and I am the creator and rightful owner of this site and the domain name that goes with it: Christian-Dating-Service-Plus.com. Boy am I creative or what?
Anyway I had my domain name, Christian-dating-Service-Plus.com registered through Bluehost.com but several days ago someone somehow got my password and codes and transferred my domain to Domainsite.com under their own ownership! Although I can still access my site, I am at the mercy of the person who unlawfully swiped my domain as he can turn my screen to black at any point he decides to switch DNS servers. Therefore, this sadly may be my last article to you.
As I said I am really broken up by this as I started Christian Dating Service Plus as a ministry for singles and a way to share my vision for starting a church here in NJ. as anyone who has read our site and about page, this site has been my identity and heart and soul. I really don’t understand why anyone would want to do this to someone, especially to those in the ministry trying to help others.
Am I angry as well as sad? Of course. However, I know that the Lord is in charge and I am asking all our faithful readers to pray for us and the person who did this. Please pray that the thief has a change of heart and decides to transfer our domain name back to us. Pray also that our God touches him in a way that lets him know that he is loved and that there are better ways to do things.
My Message to the Domain Name Thief
If you are the person who stole my domain name please know that I hold no bitterness toward you, but only beg you to do the right and honorable thing before God who will hold everyone to account for what he or she has done. I forgive you for what you have done and am praying for you right now. There is no burden or sin too great that God cannot bear or forgive.
Why does the Lord allow bad stuff to happen? I really don’t know but I do know that many single Christians out there have it a whole lot worse than I do, and that He promises to work all things together for our good if we love Him. Do you believe this? I do.
