Christian Relationship Advice for Singles
4 CommentsMany singles contact us for Christian relationship advice, often asking questions like, “Should I get out of this relationship?” or “Should I marry this person?” Many times, however, Christian relationship advice is hard to give on issues like these because we don’t have all the information on the involved parties. Also, when dishing out Christian relationship advice, I’ve learned a long time ago to get both sides of the story before giving any advice on a topic.
Christian Relationship Advice in the Bible
Perhaps most important of all, specific Christian relationship advice on dating and issues related to singles is rarely found in the Scriptures. So what kind of Christian relationship advice do we offer?
First, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you have the Holy Spirit, the counselor of truth, abiding in you. He promises to guide you and lead in all areas, including helping you make wise decisions regarding relationships. In our Bible verse of the day, James 1:5 reads:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
Secondly, we have written a number of general Christian relationship advice articles dealing with the Christian singles life. These articles may be useful for Christians seeking general Chrisrtian relationship advice. For example:

Meet Attractive Christian Singles
Want to meet attractive Christian singles? It seems just about every single Christian I know is in the market to meet attractive single Christians in hopes of meeting a mate. Reacting to this demand, many Christian dating services advertise how one can meet attractive single Christians on their sites.
What’s Wrong With Trying to Meet Attractive Single Christians?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with hoping to meet attractive Christian singles. But I guess what bothers me is it seems Christians have accepted the world’s definition of what it means to be “attractive”. Nine out of ten times attractive by this standard entails putting much more emphasis on outward appearance, rather than on what’s inside of a person. Of course, God’s advice to those seeking to meet an attractive Christian single would be the exact opposite.
The story in 1 Samuel is that Samuel the prophet was looking to annoint a new king for Israel, and thought God’s choice for His people should be the most handsome and powerful looking dude out there. Of course, the Lord had other plans when he chose David.
Bible Verse of Day
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” - 1 Samuel 16:7-
Hey, ya know what? I’m just as clueless as Samuel was, because I still struggle with judging people by their outward appearance. So how about you? In your quest toward meeting an attractive Christian single, are you taking the world’s view of attractive over the Lord’s? Are you open to His leading you in the area of choosing a mate?

Christian Woman-Biblical Advice on How to be Attractive
Leave a CommentThe average Christian woman does her best to be as attractive as possible. Unfortunately, many Christian women are under temendous pressure to conform to the world’s standard of attractive, rather than what God’s word says is appealing.
The Christian Woman and Media Culture
Christian women are exposed to a constant media barrage of what the “perfect woman ” is supposed to look like. The only problem is that the portrayal of what a woman should be is artificial and unattainable. Ironically, many Christian women seeking to find a husband understand this situation, yet also attempt to live up to this unrealistic expectation. You can imagine that the Christian woman caught up in this way of thinking often ends up battling low self-esteem and depression.
Certainly nothing in the Bible precludes a Christian woman from making herself as feminine and appealing as possible. The key is balancing this God given and positive desire with what He says true beauty is all about. In today’s Bible verse of the day, Peter tells us that a Christian woman’s true beauty and attractiveness comes from the heart:
Bible Verse of Day
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
1 Peter 3:3
If you’re a single Christian woman hoping to marry a dedicated Christian man, remember he will be attracted more to your beautiful walk in the Lord, rather than your body. If he thinks otherwise, he’s simply not worth your time, nor the man of God the Lord is preparing for you.
Are you a Christian woman with something to share about attractiveness?
