Christian Woman-Biblical Advice on How to be Attractive(share?)

The average Christian woman does her best to be as attractive as possible. Unfortunately, many Christian women are under temendous pressure to conform to the world’s standard of attractive, rather than what God’s word says is appealing.

The Christian Woman and Media Culture

Christian women are exposed to a constant media barrage of what the “perfect woman ” is supposed to look like. The only problem is that the portrayal of what a woman should be is artificial and unattainable. Ironically, many Christian women seeking to find a husband understand this situation, yet also attempt to live up to this unrealistic expectation. You can imagine that the Christian woman caught up in this way of thinking often ends up battling low self-esteem and depression.

Certainly nothing in the Bible precludes a Christian woman from making herself as feminine and appealing as possible. The key is balancing this God given and positive desire with what He says true beauty is all about. In today’s Bible verse of the day, Peter tells us that a Christian woman’s true beauty and attractiveness comes from the heart:

Bible Verse of Day

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
1 Peter 3:3

If you’re a single Christian woman hoping to marry a dedicated Christian man, remember he will be attracted more to your beautiful walk in the Lord, rather than your body. If he thinks otherwise, he’s simply not worth your time, nor the man of God the Lord is preparing for you.

Disability Dating and Singles Dating with Disabilities(share your view?)

Have you heard about those disability dating sites that exist to help disabled singles the chance to meet other singles with similar issues?

Some people use disabilty dating sites because they feel it is harder for them to find a date on a regular dating site. I know of several Christian singles who have physical disabilities, and they with disability dating services. The main reason they use online disability dating is because they feel “normal” singles in the church and those on mainstream matchmaking websites look down on them once they discover they have a disability.

What are your thoughts about disability dating? Personally, something deep in my soul is repulsed by the idea of disability dating. Oh, it has nothing to do with the dear folks who use them. I feel sad that we as human beings categorize some folks as disabled and others as not. After all, aren’t we ALL a little disabled in different ways due to the Fall?

Bible Verse of Day

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God [sees] not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
1Samuel 16:7

How then should we treat and judge each other, and how should this verse effect our dating selections? Wow…that’s a tough one.

Fitness Singles-Are You Single and Into Fitness?(share?)

fitness singles

Are you a fitness single? What a strange term that is! But that’s the term somebody coined for a single person who’s into fitness. There are even dating sites dedicated entirely to fitness singles. Unbelievable!

Go to any work out club like Ballys or LA Fitness, and you will find a substantial majority of the people sweatin’ up a storm are fitness singles. While the married folks don’t have to worry about such things, these fitness singles are seeking to keep fit so they may attract a man or woman to date.

Spiritually Fit Fitness Singles

Yesterday I was at my local fitness club, trying to pump a little iron so I won’t feel as guilty about pigging out during the upcoming holiday season. As I observed dozens of fitness singles torturing themselves on treadmills to remain looking good, I wondered how many put as much effort into their spiritual fitness.

Before I got too far with such judgemental thinking, the Holy Spirit convicted me: “David, how often do you fellowship with me through My word? How often do you go the extra mile for some lost soul in need of My love?”

Like anything else in life, the key to joy in life is to have balance in the way of doing things. Is it okay to be a fitness single? Of course! Our bodies are the temple of the Spirit, and we should take good care of them as good stewards. On the other hand, being a Christian fitness single also means remembering to prioritize what’s eternally important over what lasts only for a while.

Bible Verse of Day

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
1 Timothy 4:8
