Christian teens love dating and Myspace, and they also have sex just as frequently as their non-Christian teen friends. Ouch! Like salmon swimming against the current, Christians teens who are serious about Jesus are also in battle for spiritual survival. The bottom line here: Christian Teens struggle just like adult single Christians.
Christian Teen Advice Lacking
One of my friends who ministers to Christian Teen girls and boys recently lamented: “Christian teens are confused. They get preached to endlessly about things like courtship and dating, and the dangers of having sex before marriage, but have little real leadership by example from those at home or in the church. No wonder a large number of Christian teens get discouraged, and leave the church when they go to college.” Hello!
If you are a Christian teen (or older Christian single) who feels like you really blew it with God, and don’t know where to turn, remember the Heavenly Father is always willing to accept you where you are (1 John 1:9). You can also go to Him 24/7. Really.
There are also many Christian teen ministers and other older singles who would be more than willing to talk to you about whatever ( and we mean whatever) you wish. Sometimes just talking about our problems can help us.

A dating chat with God? Yeah, I know that sounds strange. Usually when we think of dating chats, we think of online dating chat rooms where flirting and speaking with the oppositie sex takes place.
Recently, however, several Christian singles mentioned how they were struggling with their faith, and wish they could have a “dating chat” with God on few issues. Like Job, they figured if they could, they would ask the Lord a few questions on some things they just don’t understand.
How about you? When it comes to your dating life, do you find yourself wishing you could have some dating chats with your Lord?

Dating Chat Questions and Our Faith
Wow! Talk about some heavy dating chat questions! But the most beautiful thing about our God is that He allows us to ask questions. The bottom line is although we may get all the answers this side of heaven, we have someone who loves us unconditionally, ans is always seeking our good. Do you believe that today?
We mentioned Job earlier above. Here’s a dude who was blamesless and upright before God. He seemed to have it all, until one dayhe lost everything. He NEVER found out the “whys” of it all. However, knowing and trusting in the character of God allowed him to exclaim the words found in our Bible Verse of the Day:
Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him

As Christian singleswe may have lots of “dating chat” questions. That’s okay. The issue is whether we can still abandon ourselves and our future into the hands of God like Job did?

As an employee in family court, I see a lot of single gals come through our doors. Not a few of these single gals are pregnant teen girls in great financial, spiritual and emotional need.
This thought about single gals got me thinking about Mary, the blessed mother of Jesus, our Saviour. Think about it. She too was a single gal, a pregnant teenager with some heavy needs of her own.
Single Gal Problems
First of all, she was a small town single gal who was having a baby. Can you imagine the scandal and hurtful gossip going on in Nazareth at this time? If you’re from a small town or village, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Secondly, besides this single gal having to deal with all the vicious rumours spreading around town, she also had to worry about her family. What do you think this single gal’s parents had to say about all of this? Suppose you had a teenage daughter. Would you believe her if she told you the Holy Spirit impregnated her? Would you think she was lying? Or Crazy? In the pressure of the moment, would you be tempted to get this single gal an abortion?
Finally, when our single gal left Nazareth for Bethlehem, she literally had nothing but the clothes on her back sans a couple extra rags she was to use as swaddling clothes. In grievous labour pains on the back of a donkey, she arrives at her destination: a smelly stable in the open air of the night. The single gal and Joseph coudn’t afford much else.
At just the right time, this single gal gave birth to a Precious Child without any assistance except for Joseph, who was probably just as clueless as most guys today are under similar circumstances.
I suppose most of us know the rest of this glorious story. This single gal ended up okay because God’s Grace was upon her, as witnessed by our Scripture of the day.
