Our vision for this Christian single dating site has never been to be simply a Christian dating service. Rather, our goal has always been to be a Christian singles “resource hub” where one can find Christian single dating reviews, spiritual encouragement, dating advice, singles groups and interaction with other singles by the writing and sharing of articles.
Christian Single Dating Tips
Many have written asking us what Christian single dating advice we could give in order to help singles enjoy a better online Christian dating experience. We thought long and hard on this, and came up with one simple thought: Avoid Extremes. Here’s what we mean by that:
On the one hand, there are many singles who yearn for a Christian single dating partner, but are overly cautious. So much so that they allow their fears to rule over their desire for a Christian single dating relationship. The end result is that these poor singles remain depressed, discouraged and quite possibly out of God’s will.
As far as the other Christian single dating extreme is concerned, there are those Christians who get tired of waiting on God, and plunge heart first into a Christian single dating relationship that they should have avoided altogether. The result is often a bunch of pain, rejection and heartache. These Christian dating singles have not taken to heart our Bible Verse of the day:
-Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.-Proverbs 4:23
Successful Christian single dating means having a prayerful balance between the two dating attitudes we find among Christian singles.

Some dating Christian singles I have spoken with recently have put a unique spin on Mary Winkler’s confession that she murdered her husband, Matthew Winkler. Congregants of the Fourth Street Church of Christ in Selmer, Alabama, found Winkler shot dead with a bullet hole in his back.
Our interesting conversation centered around a comment a church attendee made about the couple who was married 11 years: “They were a good Christian family. They always seemed happy.”
One single Christian woman offered, “This woman had everything we pray about having. She had a husband, three beautiful children, a home and a ministry. I guess the grass is not always greener on the other side.”
Another single guy stated “What are we as single Christians supposed to think when we hear of crazy stuff like this that is happening? And how about those divorce rates (45%) that are no different from those of non-Christians? I want to get married, but I don’t want to end up like that.”
Christian Dating Lessons
Some neat things came out of our Christian singles small group talk, and we thought of sharing them with you as gentle reminders:
- Getting married does not guarantee happiness. Yes, a Christian marriage can be wonderful, but sorrows and worldly concerns will come to you (1 Cor. 7:32-35).
- Whether married, dating or a eunuch, the joy of the Lord is our real strength and hope (Nehemiah 8:10). Another person, no matter how gorgeous or sweet, cannot provide all our needs.
- Learn to be content in your present single state, and delight in your Jesus (Phil 4:12, Psalms 37:4). Your God knows what you need, and will give them to you as you give Him first place in your life (Matt. 6:33). In the meantime, wait on God and serve others in a local ministry, have fun and relax!
- If you are a single Christian dating someone you met through an online Christian matchmaking site, or even the local supermarket, surround yourself with many Godly and discerning counselors (Prov. 24:6). They may very well protect you from a fate like Matthew Winkler’s. Christian singles groups and church small groups are a great place to get sober (and sometimes unwanted) advise.
So you’re a Christian single in hopes of getting married? Have these sad events in Alabama caused you to rethink your views on Christian dating and marriage? Feel free to share your thoughts.
