Singles of Faith
August 11, 2007
Even though most singles avoid church, many are singles of faith who profess to know Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Singles of Faith for Singles
In 1 John 5:1-5, Paul writes about genuine faith in Christ. This is not mental assent or an intellectual exercise. Rather, it is active, abiding, believing, trusting faith… the kind of faith that Abraham had as he offered his son Isaac (James 2:19-22) and that Moses had as he led the children of Israel out of Egypt and through the wilderness.
This is faith that demonstrates itself in loving obedience to the Father (v. 2-3) and in overcoming perseverance as we withstand the pressures and temptations of the world (v. 4-5). God offers us immeasurable grace to deal with life’s hardships and to shine like lights with the love of God!
Bible Verse of Day
~Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands~ 1 John 5:1,2

Lesson on Faith for Singles
April 1, 2007

We can all use a new lesson on faith once in a while. Sometimes I feel like such a wimp, even tho I claim I have faith in Christ. What usually happens to me is I let fear rule in my life, forgetting the past lessons on faith He taught me.
Likewise, as Christian singles, it’s quite easy to forget lessons on faith, and we can become anxious, depressed or discouraged in the single life. But it’s in those times that we especially need to recall the Lord’s wonderful goodness that can reach us whether we are are in the deepest pit or on the highest mountain.
Lesson on Faith Devotion
Does God feel miles away from you today? Do you feel alone and abandoned? Take cheer! The Lord’s provision is only one prayer of faith away.
Pastor David Gremban from Calvary Chapel Ann Arbor Michigan (MI), gives us the following lesson on faith for our encouragement:
“In Jonah chapter 2, Jonah prays from the belly of a fish. In his time of need, faith wells up within him and he cries out to God, remembering His goodness. God mercifully and powerfully delivers Jonah. In our times of need, may we also remember our God and cry out to Him. This same God who delivered Jonah is also able to deliver us and use us for His purposes.”
Bible Verse of Day
-Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see-Hebrews 11:1
Sometimes the Lord brings us through tough and scary times inorder to give us a lesson on faith building. Drawing on our past personal lessons on faith is a great way to appraoch present difficulties.
Do you have a personal lesson on faith you would like to share to help others?
