Waiting on the Lord for Your Soul Mate

Many people get discouraged and disheartened when they cannot find a good lasting relationship. People also try to rush a relationship because they have the opportunity to be in one. However, the Bible tells us in Psalm 27 that we need to be patient and trust in God to show us the right person to date.
As humans, we tent to get anxious and want to find our future soul mate as soon as we want to. This may cause us to get discouraged when we don’t find a person right away. God already knows who, and where your soul mate is. He also knows when and where you will meet that person; so don’t take take finding your future soul mate into your own hands. Trust in the Lord and he will guide you in the right direction. If we try to take things into our own hands, then we will get discouraged because we are not God. “Be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD” remember also not to rush into a relationship just because you get the opportunity to be in one.
We also tend to rush into a relationship just because we are desperate to be in one, even if we know deep inside that the person we are dating is not meant for us. If you know that you are getting yourself into a relationship that won’t work out for you, then get out because that isn’t what God has planned for you. If you try to do things without God, then obviously you will not find success!
Remember that the Lord knows you better than anybody and knows exactly who your soul mate is so there is no need to rush things. Have faith in the Lord and pray and when his (not yours) time is right, you will meet that person that God has made just for you and find a true long lasting, God honoring relationship.

How do you find the ideal soul mate? As one person told me, in order to find the ideal soul mate, you must be the ideal soul mate for for that special single. What did she mean by that? Simply that as Christian singles there are certain traits that will make it easier to find that ideal Christian soul mate. The following ingredients evident in every healthy marriage relationship, and as singles we must strive to get them in our dating relationships as we seek to find the ideal soul mate for life.
Keys to Finding the Ideal Soul Mate
Patience
Besides waitng in patience on God, if we are to connect with another single person to find out if they are the potential ideal soul mate, we must be willing to invest time and effort into the endeavor. As the say, Rome was not built in a night, and neither will a soul mate relationship bud in one or two dates.
Truthfulness
If we are to find the ideal soul mate, we must be our true selves and vulnerable if a connection is to occur. Otherwise you or the other person may risk falling in love with a false perception of who you think that person is, rather than who they really are. I can’t tell you the number of singles who have deep regrets for entering into a Christian marriage under such false pretenses. There is a certain fear and risk involved in being truthful about who we really are as people, but in the end it will be worth it if you find that ideal soul mate.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness is the healing glue that hold together all great relationships. Why? Because at one time or another we all screw up and have need to either forgive or ask for forgiveness. Arguments will occur, so you need to learn how to deal with fighting early on in a dating relationship. Please don’t be so unrealisitc to think that even if you find that ideal soul mate you’re not going to have trials. As our bible verse of the day states: Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)
Overall, if you put into practice the above keys, you you will be more apt, with the Lord’s help to find your ideal soul mate.
