Your Photo - The Key to Successful Online Dating

You’ll read it at most online dating sites - but how much notice do we really take of it.

Statistics show that if you have a photo posted, you’re much more likely to get visits, be invited to chat or receive emails.

Regrettably, some people take this to mean any photo, however poorly taken, is better than none.

However, the statistics would probably also show that those grainy “taken on my webcam” photos are probably not the most attractive or likely way to induce contact from the opposite sex !

If you’re serious about finding a partner through online dating, it’s worth paying some attention to your photo. After all, that’s usually the first thing that any potential partner is going to see of you.

If you’re not much of a photographer, it’s worth taking a friend into your confidence and asking them for help. Most people have access to or own a decent digital camera, these can take far more flattering photos than your webcam or a photo booth.

Try taking photos on a bright day, so that you don’t need to use much or any flashlight. Take several pictures, closeup, different angles, smiling or just happy. Then ask one or two friends which they prefer - it’s hard to make a judgement yourself of what’s a good and flattering likeness of you.

Just do it - don’t put it off, grab a friend and a camera, and replace any unsightly, non-flattering photo with one that’ll be attractive and get people to click to view your profile.
