My dear friends, I wrote this page on How to Become a Christian because it would break my heart to think that even as you enjoy our singles site, you may never have had the opportunity to experience the greatest love relationship of all. Jesus loves you so much! And when you think about it, aren’t we all just seeking someone to love us, warts and all, with an unconditional and undying love?

As a lonely single guy wondering about the meaning and purpose of this hard life, I know I sure was. The funny thing is though, if someone had told me at that time I’d be sharing How to Become a Christian with others, I would have told them they were nuts!
But in between that time and my search for meaning, something absolutely wonderful happened to me:
God reached out and poured His love on this poor, lost, broken, and lonely person. He did this by forgiving my many sins, healing my body, and giving me a brand new start in life. That’s why I will never forget the day I became a Christian.
Since that day I have let Jesus down at times, but He has never let me down. Because He’s been there for me through thick and thin, I thought the very least I could do for Him in return is to share with others how to become a Christian too.
Understanding how to become a Christian begins with realizing that the Bible is God’s love letter written to you. The manifestation of this love letter is Jesus Christ, God’s Son. He entered the world as a human being and lived a perfect life for 33 years. Although killed on the cross, he conquered death and sin by rising from the dead three days later.

Now here’s your personal Good News: Because Jesus died in your place, your sins can be forgiven, and because He conquered death by rising from the dead, you can have eternal life. The only thing is you must voluntarily accept God’s offer on His terms, not your own.

How to Become a Christian: Acknowledge That You’re a Helpless Sinner
God created us for fellowship with Him, but somewhere along the line we’ve all screwed up our lives:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).
Just as someone who breaks the law must pay for their wrongdoing, sinners must pay a price for their sins:
“For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23).
The Bible refers to this death as separation from God for eternity in a place called Hell (Rev. 20:15).
To make matters worse, there’s no amount of good work or money that can “undo” our sins. That’s why God has provided us a Saviour as a way out of this mess:
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, has paid the penalty for all your sins. You may think you have to lead a good life and do good deeds before God will love you. Not true. The Bible says that Christ loved you enough to die for you, even when you were rebelling against Him.
So learning how to become a Christian starts with accepting God’s view of who you are, and understanding His loving and free offer of help.
How to Become a Christian: Believe His Wonderful Promises
Anyone can become a Christian, and the following verses say it all:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
The bottom line here: God loves you and He wants to bless your life and make it full and complete. Not only that, after you die, He wants you to live with Him in heaven forever.
How to Become a Christian: Receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
The Lord Jesus Christ wants to have a personal relationship with you. He is waiting for you to receive Him into your heart and life. Is there anything stopping you from becoming a Christian?
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
Here’s the amazing part of becoming a Christian: When you receive Christ into your heart you become a child of God and have the privilege of talking to Him in prayer at any time, just like a child talking to his or her dad. And best of all, it is a love relationship that will last for all eternity. No dating or marriage relationship can ultimately compare with this.

Thank you that you died on the cross for me so that I could be forgiven and set free.
Thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of Your Spirit. I now receive that gift. Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit, and make me your child so I may be with you forever.
